The design of the ‘new’ Yamaha R3 seems to take a step back in time.
While it looks sporty, attractive, and youthful, it has lost some of the sharpness found in the previous generation.
Although the R3 remains desirable, it appears somewhat outdated when compared to other 300-400cc sportsbikes available today.
Despite this, the bike’s proportions are well-balanced and noticeable both when riding and when parked.
Yamaha has nailed the quality aspect of the R3.
The bike feels premium overall, with no issues like poor welds, uneven panel gaps, or flimsy switches.
From the rider’s seat, the cockpit gives the impression of a bike larger than its segment, which is appreciated.
However, the test unit showed a dulled paint finish in several areas and had multiple scratches.

Its 321cc parallel-twin engine revs freely up to a redline of around 11,000rpm with ease.
