Exterior Design

4.4 User Rating Expert Rating
Exterior Design
Positives:
  • The Tata Tigor EV was launched in 2021 and hasn’t received any major updates. Notably, Tata Motors didn’t update the Tigor EV’s exterior elements when giving the ICE version a model year update in early 2025.
  • In a typical EV fashion, the Tigor EV comes with a blanked off grille, blue design highlights and an EV badge on the grille to denote that this is the electric version. It gets halogen projector headlights, while the LED DRLs are located beside the fog lamps in the bumper, which also features an interesting pattern for the airdams.
  • The side profile of the Tata Tigor EV looks largely similar to the standard model. That said, the EV badge and the blue highlight on the wheel cover tell you that this is the electric version. Notably, the ICE version of the Tigor comes with alloy wheels, while the electric version comes with 14-inch steel wheels with stylised covers.
  • The rear of the Tigor EV comes with some blue highlights and an EV badge. Apart from that, the design remains more or less the same as its ICE sibling.
  • Tata offers the Tigor EV in three colours: Magnetic Red, Teal Blue and Daytona Grey. I personally like the Daytona Grey for its classy look.

Interior & Comfort

4.4 Expert Rating
Interior & Comfort
Positives:
  • The inside of the Tigor EV is now starting to look a tad dated, clearly showing that this nameplate is in need of an update. It gets a small 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and there are blue highlights splashed across the cabin to shout EV. Nevertheless, while most parts of the dashboard are made out of good quality hard plastics, there are some rough edges in the lower half.
  • The Tigor EV’s front seats offer more than enough space for even 6-footers. Thanks to the tilt steering wheel adjustment as well as height-adjustable front seats, finding the right driving position is easy. The view outside the car is also good, thanks to the sloping bonnet. New drivers will get comfortable behind the wheel easily.‘
  • With a six footer in the front seats, another person of the same height will have ample legroom in the back seat of the Tigor EV. That said, anyone taller will find headroom and legroom in short supply. One must note that the rear seat is best for two occupants, as the cabin width is narrow. We would recommend you to use the Tigor EV as a four-seater and enjoy the centre armrest in the back. That said, there are no rear AC vents, which would have dialled up the comfort factor.
  • The 2025 Tigor EV gets 1-litre bottle holders in all four doors, a decent-sized glovebox, a space under the climate control panel, and a slot to keep the key next to the hand brake. Moreover, front passengers also get three cupholders in the centre console (two standard and one small), but only two can be used at a time. However, there is a catch because only two can be used at a time.
  • The Tata Tigor EV offers limited charging options for occupants. Front seat passengers get a USB charger and 12V charging socket. Meanwhile, rear seat occupants would have to rely on a sole 12V charging socket for keeping their devices topped up.
  • A wireless phone charger and additional charging options for rear seat people would have been more convenient.
  • Highlights include a small 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While it works fine for most of the part, its graphics definitely seem a tad old school. Even the feed of the rear view camera appears low-res and grainy. That said, this infotainment is paired with an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system that boasts great sound quality.

Safety

Expert Rating
Positives:
  • It comes with safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking sensors with camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
  • While the safety suite is decent enough, most of the cars now come with six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera (available in Tigor ICE) and some advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
  • The Tata Tigor EV secured a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP back in 2021. Notably, it was the first EV to be crash tested by Global NCAP.

Boot Space

Expert Rating
Positives:
  • The Tata Tigor gets a 319-litre boot, which is around 100 litres less than its ICE counterpart. The main reason for this is that the spare wheel takes up some space as the battery pack is located underneath the boot floor.

Performance

4.5 Expert Rating
Performance
Positives:
  • The Tata Tigor EV offers smooth performance with more than enough power for city drives. One can also do quick overtakes and make fast progress inside town. Its linear power delivery, unlike some other EVs that offer instantaneous performance, will make even new drivers feel comfortable behind the wheel.
  • While highway performance is satisfactory, the Tigor EV’s performance starts to become dull once you reach triple-digit speeds. We recommend you to drive it in a laidback manner on open roads. The Tigor EV comes with regenerative braking with four levels on offer: Off, 1, 2 and 3. We recommend you to use level 1 and 2 for most of the time. Level 3 is recommended only when you’re low on charge or want aggressive braking while approaching a U-turn.

Ride and Handling

4.5 Expert Rating
Ride and Handling
Positives:
  • The Tigor EV does translate some movement inside the cabin when driven over bad roads, but it is not at all uncomfortable. It manages to keep all occupants comfortable in the city, and does a good job at absorbing the impacts. However, deeper potholes at slow speeds tend to cause significant side to side movement of the cabin, which can be a little annoying.
  • At high speed, it remains stable and handles highway undulations well. But, due to lack of insulation, you do hear tyre noise a lot inside the cabin. The steering feels light in the city which leads to easy maneuvering and its small size also makes it easy to navigate city traffic.
