Pros

Easy to drive due to the small proportions and light controls.
The engine is surprisingly energetic with strong performance.
Its 214-litre boot space is quite usable due to minimal intrusions.

It is surprisingly costly to buy the top-end variants.
The Alto has a rather dull and unexciting road stance.

Positives:

It has a 66bhp/89Nm 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with an optional CNG variant, and transmission options include a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.This engine cranks and settles down to an audible thrum that is not noisy unless revved to the limit.
The light clutch, smooth-slotting gears, and responsive accelerator make it effortless to get on the move from a standstill.
The 0-60kmph and 0-100kmph runs take 5.23 seconds and 12.15 seconds, respectively, which is reasonably quick.One needs to shift to lower gears for a quick overtake or get up to speed with other fast-moving traffic.
The tyres and brakes are quite capable of halting this hatchback, even under panic braking situations.The high-profile 13-inch wheels and damping setup adequately absorb most road conditions.
The tight turning radius and compact size make it easy to park and drive through narrow lanes.
The manual returned 14.5kmpl in the city and 21.8kmpl on the highway in our fuel efficiency tests.

Negatives:

It leans considerably and there is some side-to-side movement when driven fast around corners.
The Alto K10 does not feel as stable as you would like at highway cruising speeds (above 80kmph).
The 20-80kmph (third gear) and 40-100kmph runs (fourth gear) of 11.24 and 16.01 seconds are time-consuming.

It has steering-mounted audio and voice controls and a speedometer with a digital speed display.Space is just about adequate for four adults and getting in and out does not require one to bend too much.
There's adequate room for regular-sized adults with sufficient headroom in the front row and good all-round visibility.
Since it is a narrow car, reaching out to adjust the left ORVM from the driver's seat is not a stretch. It has a 214-litre boot (non-CNG version) that can carry three or four medium-sized bags and has no intrusions in the enclosure.
The entire Alto K10’s cabin gets cooled quickly despite the absence of rear AC vents. The front-row passengers get two cup holders in the centre console and some space for a phone or wallet.
Its seven-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen unit supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and sounds reasonably good for an entry-level car.

Negatives:

The second row has no storage spaces other than the bottle holder in the centre console
Tall drivers will find the seating position difficult as their knees will be close to the steering.
Since it is narrow, seating three in the back seat is tight, and the headroom is restrictive too.
