The couple had originally dreamed of honeymooning in Switzerland, but a delay in their visa pushed them to choose Pahalgam instead. Tragically, just 48 hours after landing in Srinagar, their lives changed forever in a brutal terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives, many of them tourists.

One image told the story to the world — Himanshi, still wearing her bridal bangles, kneeling beside her fallen husband. The photo went viral on social media, stirring emotions across the country. The identities were initially unknown, until family members confirmed the heartbreaking truth: the couple in the photo were Vinay and Himanshi.

Their story wasn’t just one of recent romance — it was a love rooted in history. The couple got engaged on April 6 and married ten days later in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, surrounded by loved ones. Their families had shared a close friendship for years — it felt like destiny.

“Their wedding was like a dream come true. Everything had fallen into place so beautifully,” said Manish, Himanshi’s cousin.

But joy turned to grief in an instant. In a desperate phone call, Himanshi told her brother that Vinay had been shot. Her family, along with Lt. Narwal’s father, rushed to Pahalgam, hoping it wasn’t true. But it was.
