Express Train Coaches Catch Fire Near Tirupati No Injuries Reported

On Sunday, an empty general coach of the Hisar–Tirupati Special Express (Train No. 04717) caught fire near Tirupati railway station while being shunted to the stabling yard. Although the incident caused brief panic, railway officials acted quickly, and fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the flames. According to the Railway Protection Force (RPF), train operations remained unaffected, and no passengers were onboard at the time. The fire was detected during the shunting process, and the affected coach was immediately isolated. A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

In a separate incident the same morning, a diesel-carrying train derailed and caught fire near Tiruvallur, Chennai, disrupting services and causing delays of at least five hours. Additionally, on July 4, a fire broke out in the engine of the Mysuru–Udaipur Humsafar Express near Channapatna, Karnataka, though no casualties were reported in any of the cases.
