This is the Right Time: Former Indian Captain Advises Chennai Team
Chennai team almost lost the chance to make the playoffs in the current IPL series.
The 18th IPL season between 10 teams is underway in various cities of India. In this, the 5-time champion Chennai Super Kings team, which entered the field amidst high expectations, is showing an unusually poor performance.
Chennai have played 9 league matches so far and have lost 7 and won only 2. With this, Chennai, who are at the bottom of the points table with just 4 points, have almost lost their chance of making the playoffs. Due to this, many former players are criticizing the team.
In this situation, former Indian captain Anil Kumble has advised that this is the right time to develop the future players of the Chennai team.
Anil Kumble's Advice to Chennai
Speaking about this, he said, "Rachin Ravindra is a brilliant young talent. But in this form, he seems to be a bit rushed. Maybe the third batting order suits him. There are no strong batsmen in the middle order except Shivam Dubey. The positive thing is that Previs and Mathre are playing well."
"But they need to start thinking beyond Pathirana. Nathan Ellis is an experienced death bowler. But he hasn't featured since the first match. With five games remaining, it's the right time to give the youngsters a good chance and start building for the future," he added.
With Chennai's chances slim this season, focusing on young talents could pave the way for a stronger comeback in future IPL editions.
