In a chilling incident that has shaken Faridabad, a 15-year-old Class 8 student was allegedly abducted from Sector 18 market and subjected to gang rape by four unidentified men inside a moving vehicle for nearly nine hours. The minor was drugged, assaulted, and abandoned near her home in the early hours of October 27, police revealed on Tuesday.
The victim’s elder sister filed a complaint after the girl failed to return from a routine visit to the market on October 26 evening. An FIR has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and POCSO Act at Faridabad Old Police Station, triggering an urgent manhunt using CCTV footage and forensic evidence.
According to the complaint, the girl left home around 7 PM on October 26 to buy stationery from Sector 18 market — a busy commercial hub just 2 km from her residence. When she didn’t return by 9 PM, the family launched a frantic search across nearby shops, hospitals, and police stations.
At 4:30 AM on October 27, the traumatized minor stumbled back home in a disheveled state. She recounted being forcibly dragged into a white sedan by four men in their mid-20s. The accused allegedly administered an injectable sedative, rendering her unconscious for most of the ordeal.
“They kept driving around isolated roads, took turns raping me, and threatened to kill my family if I screamed,” the survivor told her sister, as quoted in the FIR. The assailants finally dumped her near a deserted stretch off the Faridabad-Gurgaon Road before fleeing.
An FIR was lodged under:
The case carries a minimum punishment of 20 years rigorous imprisonment, extendable to life, with no provision for bail during trial under POCSO. Police have sealed the crime scene and sent the victim’s clothing and medical samples for DNA profiling at FSL Rohini.
SHO Vishnu Mittar confirmed the girl is under trauma counseling at BK Hospital and unfit to record her 164 CrPC statement. A special investigation team (SIT) led by ACP Crime has been formed with the following leads:
Sources say one suspect may be a local auto driver previously booked for eve-teasing. Raids are underway in JJ colonies and urban villages near the crime spot.
The medical report from ESIC Medical College confirms:
Doctors have placed the minor under 72-hour observation due to risk of infection and psychological shock. She has been prescribed antiretrovirals and emergency contraception as per WHO protocol.
This is the third gang rape of a minor reported in Faridabad in 2025. NCRB data shows:
Activists blame poor street lighting, unregulated parking lots, and weak patrolling in urban villages. The Sector 18 market — despite high footfall — has just 6 functional CCTV cameras out of 25 installed.
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini assured fast-track trial and Rs 10 lakh compensation under the Manohar Lal Victim Relief Scheme. Opposition leader Bhupinder Hooda demanded CBI probe and resignation of the Home Minister.
Women’s groups staged protests outside Faridabad DC office, burning effigies and blocking NH-44 for two hours. “Zero tolerance for child rape — hang the guilty in 90 days,” read their banners.
Faridabad Police Commissioner issued orders for:
Schools have been directed to escort students till main roads after 6 PM and maintain digital attendance logs.
The victim has been enrolled in:
Her identity is protected under Section 228A IPC and POCSO guidelines. The family has relocated to a safe house provided by the Women & Child Department.
Experts recommend:
Community vigil groups in Faridabad have launched night patrolling squads and WhatsApp safety alerts post this incident.
With DNA evidence, CCTV leads, and public pressure, police claim arrests within 72 hours. The case will be heard in the Faridabad POCSO Fast-Track Court, which has a 92% conviction rate in 2025.
Yet, survivors’ families know justice delayed is justice denied. As the girl fights for recovery, Faridabad holds its breath — hoping this time, the system delivers swift, severe punishment to restore faith in law and safety.
