Ahmedabad Plane Crash LIVE: No Conspiracy in Tragic Air India Accident, Says Government

Ahmedabad Plane Crash

Ahmedabad plane crash LIVE updates: In a tragic turn of events, an Air India flight headed for London crashed just 33 seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat. The devastating accident has claimed the lives of 241 people, including crew, passengers, and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

The flight, which departed at 1:19 PM yesterday from runway 23, crashed into a nearby medical college hostel building due to unknown mechanical failure or other technical difficulties. The plane was carrying 242 people, including 169 Indians, 53 British citizens, 1 Canadian, 7 Portuguese, 2 pilots, and 10 crew members.

Government Clarifies: No Conspiracy

Addressing the media after the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that there is no evidence of sabotage or conspiracy in the Ahmedabad plane crash. He explained that the intensity of the fire was worsened by the ignition of over 1.25 lakh litres of aviation fuel, making rescue operations extremely difficult.

He said, “There is no conspiracy involved. This was a tragic aviation accident caused by technical failure and aggravated by a massive fuel explosion.”

Only One Survivor

Among the 242 people onboard, only one individual — Vishwas Kumar, a British citizen seated in seat 11A — managed to escape the wreckage. According to reports, he exited through a broken emergency door after his seat detached during the impact. Kumar is currently undergoing treatment in an Ahmedabad hospital.

Speaking to the press, Kumar said, “Everything happened within seconds. There were broken parts and bodies everywhere. I was lucky to be near the exit.” Tragically, his brother Ajay Kumar, who was seated in seat 19A, did not survive.

Tributes Pour In for Former CM Vijay Rupani

The crash also claimed the life of Vijay Rupani, former Chief Minister of Gujarat. Several political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah expressed their condolences. “India has lost a great leader. It’s a national tragedy,” tweeted one senior cabinet minister.

Crash Investigation Underway

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest a technical failure during ascent, but the black box is yet to be recovered for a conclusive analysis.

This tragedy has brought back painful memories of previous air disasters in India and has once again raised questions about aviation safety standards.

The government has announced a high-level committee to review all recent flights and conduct thorough audits of Air India’s operational processes.
