E V Saroja was a celebrated Indian actress and classical dancer in the Tamil film industry. Known for her graceful dance performances and charming screen presence, she made her debut with the Tamil film En Thangai in 1952 and went on to appear in notable films like Gulebagavali, Pennarasi, Madurai Veeran, and Veera Thirumagan. Born in Engan village, Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu, she trained in classical dance under the renowned guru Vazhuvur B Ramaiah Pillai. Saroja was recognized for her ability to blend acting with dance and became one of the prominent heroines of Tamil cinema in the 1950s and early 1960s. Later in her career, she also contributed as a choreographer and producer. She passed away in Chennai in 2006, leaving behind a legacy as a talented dancer and actress. Show less
