TVS Motor Company has officially launched the highly anticipated TVS Ntorq 150 in India, marking its entry into the 150cc scooter segment. Priced competitively at Rs 1.19 lakh for the standard variant and Rs 1.29 lakh for the top-spec TFT variant (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Ntorq 150 is the most affordable scooter in its class. Unveiled on September 4, 2025, this model builds on the success of the Ntorq 125, offering enhanced performance, advanced features, and a bold design inspired by stealth aircraft. With a claimed top speed of 104 km/h and a 0-60 km/h sprint in 6.3 seconds, the Ntorq 150 is positioned as India’s quickest hyper-sport scooter. This article delves into the scooter’s design, engine, features, pricing, and market positioning, providing a comprehensive overview of this exciting launch.
The TVS Ntorq 150 takes the aggressive and sporty design language of its smaller sibling, the Ntorq 125, and elevates it with distinctive styling cues. Drawing inspiration from stealth aircraft, the scooter features a sharp front fascia with quad LED projector headlights, a segment-first feature that enhances both aesthetics and visibility. The L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) with integrated indicators and aerodynamic winglets add a futuristic touch, while the sharply contoured body panels give it a muscular stance. The rear design is equally striking, with a split ‘T’ tail lamp setup that complements the overall aggressive look.
The Ntorq 150 also introduces a naked handlebar design, reminiscent of motorcycles, enhancing rider control and comfort. Color-coded alloy wheels and a stubby performance exhaust further accentuate its sporty character. Available in four vibrant color options—Stealth Silver, Turbo Blue, Racing Red, and Nitro Green—the Ntorq 150 caters to younger riders with bold tastes. Notably, Stealth Silver is exclusive to the base variant, while Nitro Green is reserved for the TFT model, adding exclusivity to each trim.
Powering the TVS Ntorq 150 is a new 149.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, three-valve engine that delivers 13.2 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. This engine is an evolution of the Ntorq 125’s motor, featuring a larger bore, longer stroke, and a lighter piston for improved performance. A standout feature is the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which provides a 0.7 Nm electric boost in Race mode, enhancing acceleration. The engine is paired with a CVT gearbox, enabling a claimed 0-60 km/h sprint in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 104 km/h, making it one of the quickest scooters in India.
The Ntorq 150 offers two riding modes: Street and Race. Street mode delivers a milder 10.9 hp with a smoother throttle response, ideal for city commuting, and includes stop/start fuel-saving technology. Race mode unleashes the full 13.2 hp and activates the ISG boost for spirited riding. Unlike its predecessor, the Ntorq 150 omits a kickstart option, relying solely on the electric start system, which is enhanced by the ISG for silent and efficient operation.
The TVS Ntorq 150 is packed with cutting-edge features, setting a new benchmark in the 150cc scooter segment. The top-spec TFT variant features a 5-inch full-color TFT display, borrowed from the Apache RTR 310, with four-way navigation switches for seamless interaction. This display supports TVS’ SmartXonnect system, offering over 50 connected features, including Alexa and smartwatch integration, turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle tracking, last parked location, call/message alerts, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. The base variant uses a hybrid LCD/TFT display, similar to the Ntorq XT, with simpler switchgear from the Apache 160/200 models.
Safety features are equally impressive, with single-channel ABS, switchable traction control, crash and theft alerts, hazard lamps, emergency brake warnings, and follow-me headlamps. The Ntorq 150 is the first scooter in its segment to offer adjustable brake levers, enhancing rider comfort and control. Practical additions include a 22-liter underseat storage compartment with a USB charging port, a 2-liter front glove box, and a parking brake lock clasp, making the scooter both feature-rich and user-friendly.
The Ntorq 150 is built on a strengthened version of the Ntorq 125’s steel tubular frame, optimized to handle the increased power and weight. The suspension setup includes telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, both with revised spring rates and damping to accommodate the larger engine. The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels, shod with 100/80-12 front and 110/80-12 rear tubeless tires, ensuring agile handling and stability. Braking is managed by a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum, supported by single-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
Weighing 115 kg (kerb), the Ntorq 150 is lighter than many competitors, such as the Yamaha Aerox 155 (126 kg) and Hero Xoom 160 (141 kg). Its 770 mm seat height and 155 mm ground clearance make it accessible to a wide range of riders, while the 5.8-liter fuel tank offers a decent range, estimated at around 230 km based on the reported 40.5 kmpl mileage. The scooter’s compact dimensions (1,861 mm length, 740 mm width, 1,120 mm height) and 1,285 mm wheelbase ensure nimble handling in urban environments and on open roads.
Priced at Rs 1.19 lakh for the standard variant and Rs 1.29 lakh for the TFT variant (ex-showroom, Delhi), the TVS Ntorq 150 is significantly more affordable than its rivals, including the Yamaha Aerox 155 (Rs 1.51–1.54 lakh), Hero Xoom 160 (Rs 1.49 lakh), and Aprilia SR 175 (Rs 1.26 lakh). This competitive pricing, combined with its feature-packed specification, positions the Ntorq 150 as a value-for-money option in the premium scooter segment. The base variant’s price is only Rs 11,000 higher than the top-spec Ntorq 125 XT (Rs 1.08 lakh), making it an attractive upgrade for existing Ntorq owners.
The Ntorq 150 competes in a growing segment of performance-oriented scooters, appealing to younger riders and urban commuters seeking a blend of style, technology, and practicality. Its air-cooled engine offers a cost-effective alternative to the liquid-cooled Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160, while its extensive feature list outshines the Aprilia SR 175. With over two million Ntorq owners and a strong community of riders in India, TVS aims to expand its brand appeal with the Ntorq 150, targeting Gen Z with its hyper-sport design and connected technology.
