Ducati has set EICMA 2025 on fire with the global debut of the all-new Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP, replacing the ageing 937cc model with a lighter, sharper, and more powerful supermoto. Powered by a brand-new 890cc V2 engine churning out 120.4 bhp and 94 Nm, the 2026 Hypermotard drops an incredible 10 kg to hit just 180 kg wet (without fuel), while the SP version shaves another 3 kg to 177 kg.
Aggressive new styling, fully adjustable Öhlins on the SP, Brembo brakes, and a comprehensive electronics package make this the most track-ready Hypermotard ever built for the street. India launch expected by mid-2026.
The heart of the 2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2 is a completely new 890cc, liquid-cooled, 90-degree V-twin engine that produces 120.4 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 94 Nm at 8,750 rpm. Compared to the outgoing 937cc L-twin, peak power jumps by 5 bhp while torque drops marginally by 2 Nm, but the new mill revs higher and feels explosively responsive.
A six-speed gearbox with bi-directional quickshifter, slipper clutch, and optimized ratios ensures lightning-fast shifts. Euro-5+ compliant and E20-ready, the engine features longer service intervals oil every 15,000 km and valves at 30,000 km. Ducati claims 0-100 kmph under 3.5 seconds and a top speed north of 220 kmph.
Weight reduction was priority number one. Extensive use of magnesium cam covers, lighter crankshaft, and revised internals shave crucial kilos. The result? A power-to-weight ratio that rivals pure superbikes in the supermoto segment.
The 2026 Hypermotard V2 looks like it’s ready to fight. A menacing front beak, razor-sharp LED headlights, and sculpted fuel tank create an ultra-aggressive profile. The minimalist tail section, exposed aluminium subframe, and high-mount exhaust amplify the supermoto stance.
The V2 SP gets exclusive GP-inspired graphics, carbon fibre front mudguard, and forged Marchesini wheels. Both models feature wider 170mm handlebars for better leverage during slides and wheelies. Seat height is now 880mm (20mm higher) with a narrower profile for better ground reach.
Ergonomics have been refined footpegs are repositioned for aggressive cornering, and the seat offers improved padding for longer rides. Overall length is shorter, enhancing flickability in tight urban environments.
An all-new aluminium monocoque frame uses the engine as a stressed member, boosting torsional rigidity by 15%. Rake is steeper at 24.5 degrees with reduced trail for instant turn-in. Wheelbase remains compact at 1,445mm.
Standard V2 gets fully adjustable 43mm Kayaba USD forks and Sachs monoshock, while the SP upgrades to Öhlins TTX36 rear and fully adjustable 48mm forks with TiN coating. Both offer 170mm front and 160mm rear travel perfect balance between street compliance and track precision.
Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tires (120/70-17 front, 180/55-17 rear) on 17-inch forged wheels (SP) or cast wheels (standard) deliver razor-sharp grip. Dry weight drops to an incredible 166 kg for the SP making it the lightest Hypermotard ever.
Dual 320mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers and a single 245mm rear disc provide ferocious stopping power. Cornering ABS with slide-by-brake function allows controlled rear-end slides.
A 6-axis IMU powers Ducati Traction Control (8 levels), Wheelie Control (4 levels), Engine Brake Control, and four riding modes Race, Sport, Road, Wet. Race mode disables rear lift mitigation for full power wheelies. A 5-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity completes the package.
Optional Ducati Performance accessories include Termignoni exhaust, carbon heel guards, and billet levers. The SP adds forged footpegs and lithium-ion battery as standard.
Ducati India has confirmed the Hypermotard V2 range will reach showrooms by June 2026. Expected pricing: ₹16–18 lakh for V2, ₹20–22 lakh for V2 SP (ex-showroom). It will rival KTM 890 Duke R, Triumph Street Triple 765 RS, and Aprilia Tuono 660.
Bookings open Q1 2026. Ducati offers 4-year unlimited km warranty and Ever Red extended coverage up to 8 years. Service intervals remain class-leading with Desmo service every 30,000 km.
This is the ultimate hooligan machine for riders who live for wheelies, stoppies, and carving canyons. The SP version is track-day ready straight out of the crate. If you found the old Hypermotard heavy or underpowered, the 2026 model fixes every complaint.
Demo units will tour Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai from April 2026. With only 150 units allocated for India in the first year, waiting lists are expected. The new Hypermotard V2 isn’t just an update it’s a complete reinvention of supermoto madness.
