Heavy rain in Tamil Nadu districts

This rainfall activity is influenced by a deep depression that formed in the northwest Bay of Bengal and recently crossed the West Bengal and Bangladesh coast. This weather system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rain to Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal regions until June 5.

In addition to the heavy rain warnings, Chennai and its suburbs are expected to experience cloudy skies with a maximum temperature around 37°C today. Residents are advised to prepare accordingly for the changing weather.

The Tamil Nadu government and local authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. Citizens are urged to:

  • Stay updated with official weather reports
  • Avoid traveling through flood-prone or low-lying areas
  • Take precautions to prevent water-related accidents
  • Be cautious of possible landslides in hilly regions

With the monsoon season strengthening, preparedness and awareness remain key to ensuring safety during this period of heavy rainfall.
