The countdown has officially begun for all Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj fans! The much-awaited trailer and audio launch of Retro is happening on April 18 at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, starting 5 PM onwards.
This grand event promises to be nothing short of spectacular, with stars in attendance and high-voltage energy in the air. Retro is all set to bring a powerful mix of romance, action, and vintage vibes to the screen — and this launch will be the perfect sneak peek into that world.

Retro is Rolling In with a Stellar Lineup!
Directed by the talented Karthik Subbaraj and backed by Stone Bench Creations in collaboration with 2D Entertainment, Retro brings Suriya back to the screen in a refreshing new avatar as Paarivel Kannan. Joining him is the elegant Pooja Hegde, playing Rukmini Paarivel, in what promises to be a heartwarming romantic track — a genre Suriya hasn’t explored in a while.
But that’s not all! The film boasts a powerful supporting cast, including Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj. And watch out for a special appearance by Shriya Saran in a song sequence, adding more glam to the mix. Music maestro Santhosh Narayanan not only composes the score but also makes a fun cameo in the song "Kanimaa".

The film was initially introduced to audiences in March 2024 under the working title Suriya 44, accompanied by the subtitle Love, Laughter, War. The official title Retro was confirmed in December of the same year. Filming took place across multiple locations including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ooty, Kerala, and Chennai, lending the film a varied backdrop.
