Three-Point Siege: The Warriors' Firepower Meets Orlando's Defensive Wall.
The Orlando Magic continue their West Coast road trip this Monday at 10 p.m. ET, facing the Golden State Warriors in a clash of conflicting styles.
While the Magic (16-12) have shown resilience despite being shorthanded, the Warriors (14-15) are looking to bounce back using their signature perimeter offense.
The Battle of the Perimeter
The primary storyline of this matchup is the "strength vs. strength" battle on the three-point line. Golden State currently leads the NBA in both three-point attempts (44.1) and makes (16.1) per game. Conversely, Orlando boasts the league's best perimeter defense, holding opponents to a league-low 32.1 attempts from deep.
In their previous meeting this season-a 121-113 Magic win-Orlando successfully limited the Warriors to just 13 triples.
Magic's Star Power and Injury Woes
Orlando will rely heavily on Desmond Bane, who is coming off a 32-point performance and a game-winning layup against Utah. Coach Jamahl Mosley praised Bane's composure and ability to carry the team in "winning moments." Additionally, Paolo Banchero is rediscovering his rhythm after a groin injury, nearly recording a triple-double in his last outing.
However, the Magic defense will be tested as they are likely without elite defenders Franz Wagner (out) and Jalen Suggs (doubtful) to shadow Steph Curry, who currently leads the league with 5.0 made threes per game.
A Shift in Ball Security
A key statistical turnaround for the Magic has been their disciplined play. Since November 15, Orlando has transformed from the 22nd-ranked team in turnovers to number one in the league, averaging just 12.3 giveaways per game over their last 15 contests. This ball security has been vital in keeping them competitive during their road journey.

Warriors' Search for Size
Despite the offseason addition of Al Horford, the Warriors continue to struggle with interior size, ranking in the bottom half of the league in rebounding, shot-blocking, and points in the paint. NBA Insider Chris Haynes reports that Golden State is actively "purchasing" and has identified three primary trade targets to bolster their rim protection and athleticism before the February 5 deadline:
- Robert Williams (Portland Trail Blazers)
- Nic Claxton (Brooklyn Nets)
- Daniel Gafford (Dallas Mavericks)
