Growing up during a time when Indian cricket was rapidly evolving, Bedade aspired to represent the national team and make a mark in the sport. His dedication and passion eventually helped him progress through domestic cricket and earn recognition as a talented batsman.

Entry in Domestic Cricket

Bedade began his professional cricket career playing for the Baroda cricket team in domestic competitions. Reputation as a Powerful Hitter

One of the most notable aspects of Bedade's batting style was his ability to hit the cricket ball with great power. He was known as a big hitter who could clear the boundary with ease. During the early 1990s, Indian cricket selectors were looking for a batsman who could bring aggressive stroke play to the team. Bedade's attacking style made him a strong candidate for this role.

Opprtunity in Indian National Team

Because of his reputation as a hard-hitting batsman, Bedade was given the opportunity to represent India at the international level. He made his debut in One Day Internationals for the India national cricket team in 1994. His debut match came against the United Arab Emirates national cricket team in Sharjah. This opportunity was a significant milestone in his cricket career.

Playing in Sharjah Cricket Tournaments

Sharjah was one of the most popular venues for international cricket during the 1990s. Bedade had the chance to play in several matches there, including games against strong teams like the Pakistan national cricket team. These tournaments were highly competitive and often featured intense rivalries, making them an important platform for players to prove their abilities.

Performance Against Pakistan

One of the most memorable moments in Bedade's international career came during a match against Pakistan in Sharjah. In that match, he demonstrated his ability to play aggressive shots and hit powerful strokes. Although India lost the game, Bedade's performance showed glimpses of his talent as a big-hitting batsman who could change the course of a match.

Pressure of Expectations

Despite showing promise, Bedade faced immense pressure during his time with the Indian team. Cricket fans and selectors expected him to consistently hit sixes and score quickly. However, performing under such expectations proved challenging. Although he had the ability to play attacking cricket, he was unable to deliver consistent performances in the limited opportunities he received.

Short Interational Career

Bedade played a total of 13 One Day International matches for India. While he displayed moments of brilliance, his performances were not consistent enough to secure a permanent place in the team. As a result, he was eventually dropped from the Indian side and was not given another opportunity to represent the national team at the international level.

Continued Involvement in Cricket

Even after his playing career at the international level ended, Bedade remained actively involved in cricket. His passion for the game encouraged him to continue contributing to the sport in different ways. Over the years, he worked in several roles related to cricket development and administration.

In 2006, Bedade took part in an important initiative by the Board of Control for Cricket in India to encourage former cricketers to become umpires. Among thirty-five former first-class cricketers who appeared for the examination, Bedade was the only former international player. His participation highlighted his dedication to remaining connected with the sport.

Curators Certification Achievement

In 2013, Bedade achieved another unique milestone when he successfully completed the Curators' Certification Course conducted by the BCCI. Remarkably, he became the only former Indian international cricketer to pass this course, and he did so with outstanding performance. In addition, he also holds a double coaching certification from the National Cricket Academy, further demonstrating his commitment to cricket development.

Entry into Politics and Public Life

Apart from cricket, Bedade also became involved in public service and politics. In September 2010, he contested the Vadodara Municipal Corporation election as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He contested from ward number 20 in Vadodara. Bedade has also been associated with Krida Bharati, the sports wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Through these roles, he continued to contribute to society beyond the field of cricket.
