India's Precision Strike: 14 Killed in Targeted Air Raids Across Pakistan and PoK

In a bold and coordinated military move, the Indian Armed Forces carried out ‘Operation Sindoor’, a series of precise airstrikes on terrorist hideouts across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation reportedly led to the elimination of 10 family members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar and four of his closest aides.

Among those killed were Azhar’s elder sister, her husband, his nephew and wife, along with a niece. The strikes primarily targeted the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed at Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, a known operational base for the banned terror group.

The Indian Air Force launched the operation in the early hours, executing night raids on nine terror-affiliated locations. The targets were carefully selected intelligence-backed sites tied to JeM, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen. These included:

• Sarjal at Tehra Kalan – PoK (JeM)
• Markaz Abbas – Kotli (JeM)
• Syedna Bilal camp – Muzaffarabad (JeM)
• Markaz Taiba – Murdike (LeT)
• Markaz Ahle Hadith – Barnala (LeT)
• Shwawai Nalla camp – Muzaffarabad (LeT)
• Makaz Raheel Shahid – Kotli (Hizbul Mujahideen)
• Mehmoona Joya – Sialkot (Hizbul Mujahideen)

Out of the nine targets, four were located inside Pakistan and five in PoK. According to military analysts, this is one of the most strategic and symbolically powerful counter-terror operations in recent years.

Masood Azhar responded with a public statement condemning the strike, stating, “Is zulm ne saaray zabtay tor diye hain. Ab koi reham ki umeed na rakhe” — which translates to: “This cruelty has broken all boundaries. Now, no one should expect mercy.”

The operation’s name, ‘Sindoor’, holds cultural symbolism, referencing the traditional red vermilion worn by Hindu women, and was inspired by a viral image of a grieving woman beside her martyred husband following the April 22 attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 Indian lives.

Officials have stated that the airstrikes were a measured response and part of a broader zero-tolerance policy toward cross-border terrorism. India's firm stance is gaining global attention, with several countries urging calm while quietly backing India's right to defend its citizens.
