Actor Ajith Kumar Receives Padma Bhushan Award

Actor Ajith Kumar was honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award by President Droupadi Murmu in a grand ceremony held in Delhi. The event was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several Union ministers.

The Padma Awards are conferred upon individuals who have made exceptional contributions in various fields such as social work, public affairs, science and engineering, medicine, literature, and education. The Padma Awards for the year 2025 were announced on January 25, 2025. This year, the government has selected 7 people for the Padma Vibhushan award, 19 people for the Padma Bhushan award, and 113 individuals for the Padma Shri award.

In Tamil Nadu, notable personalities including actor Ajith Kumar, actress Shobana, and businessman Nalli Kuppusamy Shetty were awarded the Padma Bhushan award. Additionally, 10 people, including the renowned Bharathi analyst Seeni Viswanathan, received the Padma Shri award, bringing the total to 13 awardees from Tamil Nadu.
