Storyline

Retro tells the tale of Raghavan (Suriya), a small-town theatre projectionist in the 1970s, whose life revolves around movies and dreams. He meets Leela (Pooja Hegde), a city-bred classical dancer who arrives in town for a cultural festival. Their love blossoms against the odds, tested by societal pressures and personal sacrifices. As their emotional journey unfolds, the film beautifully captures the aesthetics, music, and emotions of a bygone cinematic era — reminding audiences that true love is, indeed, timeless.
