Kanagavel, a young physical education teacher in a school in Erode, tries to live by his passion for sport and student empowerment despite his mother's warnings and an ominous astrological prediction about his involvement in social issues. He is engaged to Vanathi, a fellow teacher, while next door lives Nandhini, a college-goer. When Nandhini is molested and subsequently takes her life during the engagement day, Kanagavel defies all odds and files a murder case against the college chairman Guru Purushothaman, exposing a web of abuse and institutional corruption.
