Storyline

Inspector Akilan (Shaam) is on medical leave because of a hand injury, but soon gets pulled into investigating a string of bizarre public suicides: victims stabbing themselves in public. He teams up with a rookie cop, Sumanth. The victims turn out to be chess players, all linked by a mysterious book “Chess — The Secret”, which hints at ancient ritual suicide practices (with Japanese connections) and other hidden forces. As Akilan digs deeper, he uncovers the involvement of a psychiatrist named Rudhran, a businessman named James (and his son Martin), and discovers that his own life, particularly his relationship with his wife Nira, is entangled with the mystery in unexpected ways.
