Swarnamalya is an Indian actress television anchor classical dancer and academic who has made a mark in the Tamil entertainment industry. She began her acting career with Mani Ratnam film Alaipayuthey in 2000 and quickly became known for her graceful screen presence and expressive performances. Alongside acting she has hosted several successful television shows and performed extensively as a Bharatanatyam dancer both in India and abroad. Swarnamalya holds advanced degrees in dance history and performance studies and is deeply involved in reviving traditional South Indian art forms.
