Born on June 4, 1946, in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India, SPB's career spanned over five decades, during which he recorded more than 40,000 songs in 16 languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. He made his singing debut with the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna -1966 and went on to become the voice of numerous leading actors like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Salman Khan, and Chiranjeevi. Known for his soulful voice, versatility, and emotional depth, SPB received six National Film Awards, Padma Bhushan -2001, and Padma Vibhushan -2011.
