His father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, was a famous Indian actor and film producer in Telugu cinema. His children, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni, are also actors in Telugu cinema. Nagarjuna hosted Bigg Boss from 2019 to 2023, and he is the co-owner of the Mumbai Masters of the Indian Badminton League, along with Sunil Gavaskar.
