Eswari Rao is a veteran Indian actress in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. She began her career in the early 1990s with the Telugu film Intinta Deepavali and made her Tamil debut with Kavithai Paadum Alaigal. She gained recognition with the Tamil film Raman Abdullah in 1997 and later became known for strong character roles in films such as Virumbugiren Appu and Naaga. She won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Character Artiste for her performance in Virumbugiren.
