Tata Motors has recently revamped the Tata Safari lineup, introducing a new Adventure X+ variant priced at Rs. 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom) earlier this month. Alongside this launch, the company has restructured the three-row SUV’s variant offerings, reducing the total to 10 variants. The updated lineup includes Smart, Pure X, Pure X Dark, Adventure X+, Adventure X+ Dark, Accomplished X, Accomplished X Dark, Accomplished X+, Accomplished X+ Dark, and Accomplished X+ Stealth, available across eight paint options. This revision aims to cater to a broader audience with enhanced features and pricing flexibility in the Indian SUV market.

The base Smart variant comes equipped with a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, 17-inch alloy wheels, and six airbags for safety. It includes all-wheel disc brakes, all four power windows, automatic climate control, and Bi-LED projector headlamps. Additional features like tilt- and telescopic-adjustable steering, LED turn indicators, LED tail lights, LED DRLs, traction control, hill start assist, and adjustable headrests for all three rows make it a solid entry-level option. Safety features such as ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, ESP, and cornering stability control further enhance its appeal.
The Pure X variant builds on the Smart with a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and dual 10.25-inch screens. It offers cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs with auto-fold, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional comforts include a front armrest with storage, push-button start, a four-way height-adjustable driver seat, rear wiper and washer, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shark fin antenna, and 250+ voice commands, with paddle shifters and a command shifter for automatic transmission models.
The Pure X Dark variant adds 18-inch black alloy wheels, a Blackstone interior theme, and dark badging to the Pure X features. The Adventure X+ introduces Adventure Oak leatherette interiors, ADAS with 12 functions, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a powered driver’s seat with memory and welcome functions. It includes trail response modes (Normal, Rough, Wet), EPB with auto-hold, drive modes (City, Sports, Eco), four speakers and two tweeters, rear defogger, boss mode, a 45W USB Type-C charging port, illuminated glove box, and front seat back pockets.
The Adventure X+ Dark variant upgrades to 19-inch black alloy wheels, retaining the Blackstone interior theme and dark badging. The Accomplished X offers an Oyster White and Titan Brown interior theme, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a nine-speaker JBL music system, ventilated front seats, and a gesture-controlled tailgate. It includes a front and rear connected LED light bar, winged comfort headrests in the second row, wireless charger, TPMS, sun blinds for the second row, a second row armrest with cupholders, follow-me-home headlamps, and third row AC vents with blower speed control.
The Accomplished X Dark adds 19-inch black alloy wheels, a Blackstone interior theme, and dark badging to the Accomplished X. The Accomplished X+ elevates the experience with Level 2 ADAS featuring over 20 functions, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, seven airbags, and a four-way powered co-driver seat with electric boss mode. It includes ventilated captain seats for the second row, a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, an air purifier with AQI display, a bejeweled terrain response mode selector with display, welcome and goodbye animations on LED light bars, front LED fog lights with cornering function, hill descent control, front armrest with cooled storage, and remote AC on/off function.
The Accomplished X+ Dark variant features 19-inch black alloy wheels, a Blackstone interior theme, and dark badging, building on the X+ features. The top-tier Accomplished X+ Stealth introduces a matte stealth black paint, a stealth mascot, 19-inch Stealth Black alloy wheels, a Carbon Noir interior theme, a Level 2 ADAS suite with over 22 functions, an Arcade app store, a sliding armrest, and Alexa Home2Car connectivity, positioning it as the premium flagship of the Safari lineup.
The revised Tata Safari variants, with the addition of the Adventure X+ and streamlined lineup, are set to strengthen Tata Motors’ position in the Indian SUV market.
